Its been awhile hasn't it? I hope your Canada Day and Independence Day celebrations went well. We headed over to the friend's for a pre-Canada Day BBQ, where I drowned my self in one and half bottles of wine and enjoyed my self immensely - what can I say I am a cheap drunk? Which made waking up on actual Canada Day a bit of a struggle...
Unfortunately, for many Torontonians many Canada Day celebrations were ruined because of the on-going strike by CUPE workers. I will not say much about that save for the fact it must be wonderful to have access to around 2.48 million hostages.
Now on to other things - namely about being patient. Sometimes I find it actually pays not to rush out and buy everything I see/want. For example, I have been lusting after this pair of Marc by Marc Jacobs called Haner flats since around May , but the price tag of CAD$265.00 were putting me off.
Mysteriously I can't seem to find more info on them on the Marc Jacobs website and it seems like not many places that sell these flats. They come in slew of colours: Gold, Silver, Black, Pink & Green. Little Burgundy is only place which seems to carry the Gold and Silver versions. I saw the gold ones first on Little Burgundy's website as mentioned in May and loved them. However IRL I found the Gold too yellow and not as muted as it looks in the picture, and ended up liking the Silver ones better. The price was the only sticking point.
Flash forward to July - I walked into Little Burgundy at Fairview last Friday and they were on sale at CAD$149.98. Now that is fate rewarding me for being patient right?
Therefore I had to order them in Silver (my size wasn't available in-store). FYI Little Burgundy ships for free which is a great, I wish more retailers would offer that or more reasonable shipping prices in Canada. I opted to have them shipped to the store as I'd prefer to know that the delivery wouldn't be missed at home.
Anyhoo, that's all for me for now - what about you? Did you purchase anything recently for cheaper because you held of paying full price in the first place?
